INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Member of Commission V of DPR Sahat Silaban expects the related institutions and ministries to synergize infrastructure development in Lake Toba, North Sumatra.
"I really look forward especially to our partners who are here, the Ministry of PUPR, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Village, Basarnas and BMKG to jointly make Lake Toba as a national strategic area of tourism," said Sahat in a release in Jakarta on Friday 14/7/2017)
According to Nasdem Party politicians, the various institutions are expected to be serious in realizing the development.
For that, he said, it is appropriate that various egosektoral abandoned and inter-institutional communication is also improved.
Previously, the Coordinating Minister for Marine Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that investments made in the area of the National Tourism Strategic Area of Lake Toba will not be borne by the government, but through cooperation between private institutions or state-owned enterprises.
"For investors, the form must be B to B (businees to business)," Luhut said in Coordination Meeting of the Authority Agency of the National Tourism Strategic Area Management Board of Lake Toba (BPOPDT) in Parapat, North Sumatra, Saturday (8/7).
With regard to accommodation, he encourages state-owned enterprises in the region, such as Inna and Patrajasa, as well as private companies to increase the number of rooms. Because the number of rooms currently about 710 rooms is still considered not enough to accommodate the upcoming tourists as the development of the region.
Another highlighted issue is the increasingly severe pollution of the lake. Pollution is allegedly derived from household waste, hotels, keramba and livestock manure.
Earlier, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said the rail access to the tourist destinations of Lake Toba, North Sumatra, requires a budget of around Rp100 billion.
Arief after the meeting at the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Monday (12/6), said that the development budget of train access to one of the priority destinations will be taken from the State Budget (APBN).
Menpar also said that the decision to develop rail transportation from Medan to Parapat has been decided by the government. For the initial stage, the developed route is Medan-Siantar which takes 2.5 hours.
