Modena Officially Becomes a Member of the UN Global Compact

INDUSTRY.co.id -Jakarta - Commited to transforming towards sustainable business practices, Modena the global home appliance established over 60 years ago in Italy, officially became a member of the UN Globe Compact (UNGC) in July 2024.
Nicole Jizhar, Executive Vice President of MODENA and Chief Advisor to the MODENA Sustainability Taskforce, explained, the MODENA’s consistent implementation of sustainable business strategies through social responsibility management let to its selection as one of the national companies registered as a UNGC member.
“With this membership, MODENA is ready to demostrate the company commitment to implementing Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles in every business line, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals,” said Nicole Jizhar.
MODENA, a global company based in Indonesia, is the first in the electronics and home appliances industry to join the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). The UNGC, an international initiative under the United Nations, promotes alignment with its 10 principles, which address human rights, environmental sustainability, anti-corruption, and labor practices.
The UNGC has members from various sectors spread across 160 countries. As a member, MODENA is obliged to submit an annual Communication of Progress (COP) report as a commitment to implementing these principles and supporting the achievement of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
“All the ESG activities that the company has carried out and will continue to pursue stem from MODENA’s vision and mission. Our focus is on creating a positive impact not only within the company but also in the communities surrounding our operational areas,” said Nicole Jizhar.
The implementation of the 10 UNGC principles can be seen in the company’s programs, such as improving employee welfare and capability through continuous learning and growth, and community development in MODENA’s operational areas through integrated CSR programs in collaboration with various stakeholders.
