INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to spur downstream agro-based industries to increase the value added of domestic products.
"The special production capacity of palm oil and its derivatives this year continues to show an increase compared to the previous years. His production capacity of palm oil and its derivatives this year increased to 60.75 million tons compared to 2014 which reached 49.7 million tons," said Minister of Industry Airlangga Hartarto to the press in Jakarta, Tuesday (24/10/2017).
Airlangga targets palm oil production capacity and its derivatives will continue to increase by 62 million tons in the next two years. For the total range of downstream palm oil products, the 2015 to 2017 period will increase to 154 products and by 2018 to 2019 it is predicted to exceed 170 products.
"The 2014-to-2014 range of downstream products is 2014. There is an increase in 2015 to 2017 to 154 products, as well as the ratio of exports of upstream-downstream palm oil products, up from 34% of CPO and 66% of its derivatives to 22% of CPO and 78% derived palm oil," he said.
Meanwhile, in the metal sector there is a significant upstream downstream, where in the period 2015 to 2017 has been producing an integrated smelter industry with its derivative products of stainless steel with a capacity of 2 million tons and is predicted to continue to increase to three million tons by the end of 2019.
