INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Investor Relations of PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk (SSMS), Arie Raymond, said that next year there will be a potential increase in Crude Palm Oil (CPO) production volume because the rainfall during this year in Central Kalimantan is quite good.
"There is no prolonged El Nino and the CPO commodity is very dependent on the weather, but last year, the commodity was depressed because of the effect of El Nino and gave the long drought effect causing drought, even though CPO needs a lot of water to increase productivity," he said at public expose in Jakarta, Thursday (28/12/2017).
Until June 2017, the company that operates in Central Kalimantan has a plantation with 62,883 hectares (ha) of plantation, immature plant of 7,375 ha, and others 25,512 ha.
Arie added that the operational pattern of SSMS garden management adjusts to weather patterns every year. "So that production in the future will grow positively," said Arie. (Imq)
