INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Amid the obstacles that come from various countries, including the European Union, Indonesia continues to diversify the export market of palm oil products.

"As the largest producer of palm oil (CPO), Indonesia has been getting many trade barriers from various countries, so the government is aggressively diversifying the export market for palm oil commodities," said Kasan Muhri, Head of the Ministry of Trade Trade and Development Agency Jakarta, Friday (07/28/2017).

According to Kasan, Indonesia must continue to prepare itself to open new markets for CPO exports. It is prepared to deal with trade barriers from major destination countries.

"Currently, palm oil derivative products have reached hundreds of species, especially in Europe, where growth of commodity exports has increased significantly," he said.

Exports of CPO and its derivatives to Europe, in 2016, the volume rose 37%, the value rose 71%.

"In anticipation of trade barriers from Europe, Indonesia is in the market penetration by accelerating bilateral agreements with non-traditional markets, to reduce obstacles such as tariffs and high import duties in some new destination countries," Kasan said.
