INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - As mining commodity prices increase, especially mineral commodities, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), or Antam, intends to increase nickel ore export permits by 1.2 million tons per year to the government.
"With the addition of the export license, Antam will have a nickel ore export license of 3.9 million tons per year. At present, Antam's nickel ore export permit is 2.7 million tons per year," said Dimas Wikan, Antam's Finance Director, in Jakarta recently.
Dimas asserted, the request for an increase in nickel ore export permit is currently still being processed by the government. Antam's management expects the permit to be issued in the first quarter of this year.
Dimas is optimistic that if the nickel ore export approval is approved by the government, then Antam's performance is expected to grow significantly as the current nickel price continues to rise.
Taking advantage of the increase in the selling price, said Dimas, Antam's management expects the government to agree to increase the export license of nickel ore. Moreover, nickel reserves in the world market are currently experiencing a decline.
"That's because Indonesia and the Philippines, which are the two largest nickel producing countries in the world that are currently experiencing bad weather causing disruption to mining activities, especially nickel mine," said Dimas. (Abraham Sihombing)
