INDUSTRY.co.id - Makassar - Minister of Agriculture, Amran Sulaiman, stressed that the focus will be on continuing and developing the application of Indonesian Farmers' Store (TTI) so that people can access the services online in the future.
"In 2018 we will develop 1,000 TTIs and 500 farmer group associations, so it is impossible to manage the distribution of food manually, so we build e-commerce of TTI," said Minister of Agriculture Arman Sulaiman as described by Head of Public Relations of Unhas Rahman Ishaq in Makassar , Friday (16/2/2018)
The program undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture is certainly one of the efforts to follow up the development of information technology (IT) by designing TTI applications online in e-commerce applications (business to business).
"This program involves farmers, communities, financial institutions and transportation, as a transformation in TTI services to serve the community more broadly, easily and inexpensively," he said.
According to him, the benefits of this application include the availability of stock information for the combined access of farmer groups (Gapoktan) and TTI, as well as the certainty of delivery and monitoring of the delivery process.
In addition, he added, it can provide a guarantee of continuity of supply, minimization of distribution costs, the certainty of prices and stocks that can be purchased by the community, as well as information access the nearest TTI location for the community.
"For that, this application will continue to be developed so that people can access TTI services online," he said.
In many countries, said the Minister of Agriculture, the concept of functional food has grown very rapidly. "Cook Indonesia can make a plane, then for the tractor cannot even? Even if the tractor goes backwards, just hit it! Later the next researcher who made his way so advanced," said Minister of Agriculture.
Minister of Agriculture who became one of the speakers at the Indonesian Rector Forum (FRI) at Hasanuddin University Makassar also mentioned the economic and educational factors that cause the high number of children under five stunting in Indonesia.
Therefore, the Minister of Agriculture also asks the real participation of all parties, government, private sector, community, and even educators to continue to eliminate hunger and malnutrition by increasing food production and ensuring people have access to nutritious food.
Arman conveyed, based on the results of the World Food Organization (FAO), as many as 19 million Indonesians are estimated to still experience hunger.
"The main cause is poverty and the scarcity of basic food, many Indonesians are unable to meet their food needs, especially in the eastern part of Indonesia," he said.
