Kimia Farma Immediately Develop Online Pharmacies

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk will develop a business model of online pharmacies while waiting for regulation about the sale of drugs through cyberspace or internet which is currently being brewed by the government.
"We are initiating to be the pioneer of online pharmacies at this time," said Kimia Farma President Director Honesti Basyir in a press conference following the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGM) in Jakarta on Thursday (19/4/2018)
According to Honesti Basyir, it sees potential opportunity to enter the market in the network (online) while waiting for the regulation from the government, especially the Ministry of Health.
Kimia Farma president director, said the possibility of online pharmacies owned by SOEs can already be launched around the quarter-III 2018.
While products that will be sold pending regulation, according to him, is estimated to be a product of health equipment, drugs that do not need to use recipes, and cosmestic.
Honesti said that Kimia Farma's entry into the online digital business is part of an effort to create a company's efficiency value, especially considering when opening a physical store there must be a number of requirements such as property and labor.
He also reminded that global online companies such as Amazon and JP Morgan have also launched an online digital pharmacy line.
Kimia Farma president director also believes that the existence of more than 1,000 physical stores owned by pharmaceutical state will be a strong capital to win the competition in the digital industry.
In the AGM, Kimia Farma also decided to distribute dividends to shareholders amounting to Rp98 billion or 30 percent of the company's net profit of Rp 2017.7 billion.
Honesti explained, Kimia Farma also managed to book a net profit of Rp331, 7 billion or an increase of 22.13 percent compared to the previous year, and net profit of Rp6, 13 trillion or an increase of 5.44 percent compared to the previous year.
He said, the growth of that is considered to exceed the growth of the national pharmaceutical industry which grew an average of 3 percent.
In addition, Kimia Farma also dismissed Farid Wadjdi Husain as President Commissioner and Dewi Fortuna Anwar as Commissioner, and raised respectfully Untung Suseno Sutarjo as President Commissioner, Nurrachman Independent Commissioner, and Chrisma Aryani Albandjar as commissioner
