World Lupus Day 2018 Memorial, Kimia Farma Launches Lesikaf

INDUSTRY.co.id - Bandung - Coinciding with World Lupus Day 2018 warning, PT Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk (Kimia Farma) launched a drug for People with Lupus (Odapus) named Lesikaf.

The result of research of natural materials potency as complementary of Lupus therapy is a form of synergy between Kimia Farma with researchers from Medical Faculty of Padjadjaran University, School of Pharmacy of Institut Teknologi Bandung, and Non-profit Non Governmental Organization care Lupus Syamsi Dhuha Foundation as initiator.

Laik Lesikaf was attended by Head of POM, Penny K. Lukito; Director of Kimia Farma, Honesti Basyir along with Board of Directors of Kimia Farma, and Chairman of Syamsi Dhuha Foundation, Dian Syarief in Bandung, West Java on Sunday (6/5/2018).

"Kimia Farma through the New Product Development Unit (NPD) in collaboration with various parties continue to innovate to produce various pharmaceutical products that improve the health status of the community, such as through the use of cecendet / ciplukan," said Honesti Basyir.

Alternative herbal remedies for Lupus, continued Honesti, are easing, expected to be accessed by Odapus in various regions in Indonesia.

Lesikaf is a product of the category of herbal medicine (traditional medicine) with the composition of extract cecendet / ciplukan (physalis angulata Linn). The product materialized upon the initiation of Syamsi Dhuha Foundation (SDF) which is the winner of Sasakawa Health Prize 2012 from World Health Organization (WHO).

Lesikaf has been through research trials at the School of Pharmacy Institute of Technology Bandung and clinical trials at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Padjadjaran to know the security aspects and efficacy of cecendet / ciplukan.

Lesikaf became an alternative therapy of lupus is relatively safe and effective because until now there is no drug that can cure lupus.
