Director General of Food Crops, Sumarjo Gatot Irianto explained directly to the field to ensure the stock in the field. As a result, grain stocks in Central Java and East Java do exist and are quite abundant.
Gatot said, in addition to monitoring the harvest directly, it took several parties such as Bulog, Bulog Partners, TNI, District Agriculture Office to engage in the absorption of grain farmers (Sergap). This is an important agenda due to the harvest of gadu juni -agustus this time the quality of grain is very good, low water content, no pest attack to produce grain and rice of premium quality.
"The maximum number of harvests at this harvest is expected to reach 1 million tons to meet all bulog warehouses in East Java and Central Java," said Gatot in East Java, Tuesday (12/06/2018).
According to Gatot, currently the area of rice that harvest cultivation in East Java and Central Java reached 564,326 ha of the national harvest 1.77 million ha. "If calculated nationally then the amount of MPD in this June will be obtained 9.190.230 ton GKG equivalent to 5,765,951 ton Rice," he said.

On this visit also, besides doing Sergap, Gatot also asked farmers who have harvested to cultivate the land directly so that it can be planted with rice again. This is because the rainfall is still quite a lot in this second growing season.
"Farmers are advised not to wait for long because we race against time, if planting too long it is not impossible harvest failure will occur because the approaching dry season arrives," he said.

"The policy of Minister of Agriculture to synergize Kementan, TNI and Bulog and the provincial and district governments need to be appreciated," he said.
