Petrokimia Gresik Receives IFA Protect and Sustain Award 2018

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - PT Petrokimia Gresik (PG) received an award and certification of IFA Protect & Sustain 2018 from International Fertilizer Association (IFA) at the 86th IFA Annual Conference in the German capital, Berlin, Wednesday night local time (20/6/2018) .

In addition to PG, other companies awarded and certified by IFA Protect & Sustain are Fertilizer Sriwidjaja (Indonesia), AlexFert (Egypt), Sabic (Saudi Arabia), and Yara International (Norway). Thus, the number of companies in the world that have been certified or entered in the Hall of Fame IFA Protect & Sustain reach 49 companies from 53 countries.

PG President Director Nugroho Christijanto stated that the award and certification is a form of world recognition of the company's commitment and sustainability in managing and developing the fertilizer and agriculture industry in Indonesia.

"We hope through this certification Petrokimia Gresik can boost performance and continuous improvement in accordance with the three basic principles of IFA, namely Safety, Security, and Sustainability," said Nugroho through a written statement on Thursday (21/06/2018).

The 86th IFA Annual Conference was held for three days, on June 18-20, 2018 in Berlin, Germany. This annual event was attended by more than 1,350 executive officers from various industries of fertilizers and nutrition of the world.

IFA itself is a fertilizer industry association with membership of over 500 organizations from 85 countries. IFA members are actors from the worldwide industry chain of fertilizers, ranging from producers, traders, distributors, service providers, research organizations, and world-wide NGOs engaged in the sector of fertilization.

Nugroho further stated that this award becomes very important considering the future of the company is no longer just an agricultural input but must be able to provide total solution on a much larger scale.

"Hopefully this award will motivate us to always do better in promoting the national fertilizer and agriculture industry, that is how Petrokimia Gresik can contribute and help develop and provide solutions for the agroindustry sector in Indonesia," concluded Nugroho.
