Perhutani Cooperates with Three SOEs for Forest Area Utilization Cooperation

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - As a form of state-owned synergy, President Director of Perum Perhutani Denaldy M Mauna, President Director of PT. Perkebunan Nusantra (PTPN) XII Berlino Mahendra Santosa, Director of Small Business and Network of PT. Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) Catur Budi Harto and Director of Retail Operations PT. Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo), Sahata L. Tobing, signed a cooperation agreement (MoU) on Utilization of Forest Area for Coffee Plant Cultivation in the Ministry of SOEs conference room on Wednesday (25/7).
Also present in the signing of cooperation is Deputy of Agro Industry and Pharmaceutical Enterprises Ministry of SOE, Wahyu Kuncoro. In his speech, Wahyu conveyed, deeply appreciated by the cooperation activities of Perum Perhutani with 3 other state-owned companies namely PTPN XII, BNI and Asuransi Jasindo.
"It is expected that with the implementation of Forest Area Utilization Cooperation for Coffee Plant Cultivation will involve many related institutions and improve the economy of the people around the forest", he said.
President Director of Perum Perhutani, Denaldy M Mauna stated that SOEs should indeed contribute to support the development of the region, especially SOEs whose activities are in direct contact with the surrounding community. "Perum Perhutani always strives to synergize with other SOEs to support and assist productive forest village community as well as in the cooperation of Forest Area Utilization for Coffee Plant Cultivation," explained Denaldy.
Cooperation to be implemented through the Forestry Partnership (KULINKK) recognition and protection program in the Social Forestry program which is the implementation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation no. 83 of 2016.
With the signing of this cooperation is expected to help coffee farmers in improving the quality and production of peasant coffee through mentoring and coaching. Farmers are also given access to financing and market access for their crops. So that created the improvement of governance with the implementation of the correct cultivation process and maintain the continuity of coffee plant production and environmental sustainability. The planned location of forest to be cooperated in this agreement is located in East Java with an area of 31 thousand hectares.
