INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - TelkomGroup provides communication services for all Telkomsel prepaid customers in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, to facilitate communication after an earthquake measuring seven on the Richter scale.

Telkom Consumer Service Director, Siti Choiriana, through a written statement in Jakarta, Thursday (08/08/2018) said that TelkomGroup provides a special package in the form of 50 minutes free calls and free 200 SMS to all operators for seven days for all Telkomsel prepaid customers in Lombok.

"This assistance is one of Telkom's commitments in carrying out social responsibility and a form of concern for the community, especially the Lombok people who are being hit by calamity," Siti said after visiting Lombok, NTB, Wednesday (8/8).

Siti had the opportunity to visit refugee shelter camps directly, including meeting children of earthquake victims at the Main Command Post of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) in the city of Tanjung, North Lombok Regency.

In addition to providing communication services, TelkomGroup also provides assistance for basic needs and other facilities and infrastructure. The forms of assistance provided included two box cars, two MCK facilities, materials for places of worship in three locations, generators, groceries and blankets and free telephone assistance at the evacuation sites.

The assistance was channeled through the SOE Presentation for the Country coordinated by Bank Mandiri, and then all aid was distributed to a number of districts affected by the earthquake.

Meanwhile, related to the recovery of telecommunications services, TelkomGroup activates the Crisis Management Team which is tasked with overseeing the recovery of infrastructure and services and coordinating the distribution of aid to the community.

The team monitored the field conditions for 24 hours at the National Crisis Center in Jakarta and at the Emergency Post TelkomGroup of the Mataram Witel Office.

Siti added that cellular and internet services have now recovered. All of TelkomGroup's infrastructure and services in Lombok are now backing to normal.

"However, TelkomGroup continues to monitor and mitigate measures to reduce the impact of disasters, especially on the infrastructure and equipment of TelkomGroup production on Lombok Island," said Siti.
