Lombok Airport Change Name to Zamia Airport

INDUSTRY.co.id - Mataram - Lombok International Lombok or Lombok International Name Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara changed its name to Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport (ZAMIA).

Deputy Chairperson of NTB DPRD H Abdul Hadi in Mataram, Thursday (6/9/2018), welcomed the change of name of Lombok International Airport to Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport.

This name change was based on the Decree of the Minister of Transportation No. KP 1421 in 2018 concerning the change of name of Lombok International Airport to Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport which was set in Jakarta on Wednesday (5/8) and signed by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

"For me, the name change is good and positive, because the name of the hero of NTB, namely Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid or known as Maulanasyekh, will continue to be known," said Abdul Hadi.

The PKS DPW Chairperson admitted that the proposal to change the name of the airport had actually been conveyed by the executive to the NTB DPRD when proposing the name of national hero Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid or known as Maulanasyekh.

"For us, the change in the name of the airport was good, so at that time we immediately agreed," he said.

Previously, in the decree circulating the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi issued a ministerial decree related to the change of name of Lombok International Airport in NTB.

Based on the decree, Lombok International Airport was renamed Zainuddin Abdul Madjid International Airport. "That in order to establish the name of the international airport Zainuddin Abdul Madjid, approval has been obtained from the NTB Province Regional Representative Council, the Governor of West Nusa Tenggara, the Sasak Customary Assembly, and the Presidential Decree No. 115 / TK / 2017 concerning the awarding of the National Heroes' Title, "said the Minister of Transportation's decree as quoted.

The determination of the change in the name of the airport was issued Wednesday September 5 2018. Within a maximum period of six months from the stipulation of this ministerial decree, administrative matters must be resolved thoroughly.

"The Director General of Civil Aviation carries out technical guidance and supervision of this ministerial decision," he continued.

Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid is a Lombok figure who was awarded the National Hero Title. NTB Governor Muhammad Zainul Majdi or Tuan Guru Bajang is one of the grandchildren of Muhammad Zainuddin Abdul Madjid. (Ant)
