Indonesia Targets Trade with South Korea Worth US $ 30 Billion

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta -President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said, amid a lot of uncertainty in the world, Indonesia and South Korea were able to record increasingly strong relations.
In 2017 the realization of trade transactions between Indonesia and South Korea had risen 20 percent to 17 billion US dollars, of which Indonesia had a surplus of 78 million US dollars.
"We have a trade target of 30 billion US dollars for 2022," President Jokowi said at a press conference with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, at the Blue House Presidential Palace in Seoul, South Korea recently.
The Head of State admitted that he was very impressed to see the enthusiasm of South Korean businessmen and investors to increase economic cooperation, invest in Indonesia. According to him, this shows a high level of trust from the South Korean business world to the economy in Indonesia.
"I get a report that in the Indonesia-Korea Business and Investment Forum 2018, a number of MoUs have been signed with investment potential of USD 6.2 billion," said President Jokowi.
On that occasion, President Jokowi thanked South Korea for the support of the Asian Games in Jakarta, 18 August-2 September 2018 ago.
"The presence of the South Korean Prime Minister at the opening of the Asian Games is very appreciated," said President Jokowi, adding, of course, the participation of K-Pop, Iconic, and Suju (Super Junior) at the closing of the Asian Games added to the joy of Energy of Asia.
