INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) recorded social assistance for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi reaching Rp.22 billion through CSR funds or Community Development from 23 SOEs.
"For social assistance provided by state-owned enterprises, IDR22 billion has been collected through Telkom Parent Post. This assistance is distributed to various cities affected by the earthquake, such as Palu, Donggala and Sigi," said Deputy Assistant of Environmental Responsibility of the Ministry of BUMN Indriani Widiastuti in a discussion at the Graha Lobby BNPB, Jakarta, Saturday (06/10/2018)
Indriani explained that BUMNs also deploy volunteers, heavy equipment, and building materials. The existing post is eight units and coordinates with the emergency response posts from BNPB and the local government.
The Ministry of BUMN has appointed eight red plate companies as coordinators of the post, namely Telkom Indonesia, BRI, Bank Mandiri, PLN, BNI, Pertamina, Pelindo IV, and BTN.
The Telkom Post which is located at Telkom Office, Jalan Juanda is the main post for receiving and distributing assistance. The assistance comes not only from SOEs, but also from the public and private parties who want to make donations.
"In the implementation, there are procedures for distribution and of course there is verification of how these items can be distributed, so that this is not used for those who are not entitled to receive assistance," said Indri.
The day after the earthquake and tsunami on September 28, the Ministry of SOEs had made efforts to improve basic needs facilities including electricity, telecommunications and fuel oil (BBM).
The visit of SOE Minister Rini Soemarno on October 1 also aimed to coordinate the role of SOEs to provide community services as needed.
"For electricity facilities, PLN will repair generators, repair two substations, then telecommunication facilities carried out by Telkom by repairing the network," said Indriani.
In addition, PT Telkom Indonesia also provides free wifi service facilities needed by the community, so that people can communicate. Likewise with the need for fuel that continues to be supplied by Pertamina. Pertamina also optimizes all distribution channels, both sea and air so that the fuel supply remains smooth.
