Second day in Tokyo, President Jokowi attended the ASEAN-Japan 50th Anniversary Summit

INDUSTRY co.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) continued his working visit to Tokyo, Japan, Sunday (17/12/2023), by attending the High Level Conference (KTT) Celebrating 50 Years of ASEAN-Japan Friendly Relations and Cooperation which was held at The Okura Hotel .
Arriving at around 09.50 local time, President Jokowi was immediately greeted by Japanese Prime Minister (PM) Fumio Kishida and held a group photo session.
Afterwards, President Jokowi, PM Kishida, together with the leaders of other ASEAN member countries held a group photo session. On this occasion, President Jokowi was seen standing between PM Kishida and Vietnamese PM Pham Minh Chinh.
After the group photo, President Jokowi and other state leaders entered the meeting room together to attend the Summit Celebrating 50 Years of ASEAN-Japan Friendly Relations and Cooperation. Minister of Foreign Affairs (Menlu) Retno LP Marsudi also said that President Jokowi would co-chair the summit considering that Indonesia still holds the chairmanship of ASEAN.
"The ASEAN-Japan Summit is also the last major activity of Indonesia's chairmanship of ASEAN," said Foreign Minister Retno in her statement on Saturday (16/12/2023).
Accompanying the President at the Summit Celebrating 50 Years of Friendly Relations and Cooperation between ASEAN and Japan were the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (Menko Ekonomi) Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno LP Marsudi, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif, Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Pramono Anung, and Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Heri Akhmadi.
