President Jokowi arrives in Indonesia after a visit to Japan

INDUSTRY co.id - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) arrived at Halim Perdanakusuma Indonesian Air Force Base, Jakarta, in the early hours of Tuesday (19/12/2023), at around 01.10 WIB, after traveling for approximately seven hours from Tokyo, Japan.
Seen welcoming the President under the stairs of the plane were TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.
Previously, the President and his entourage took off from Haneda International Airport, Tokyo, on Monday (18/12/2023) at around 19.30 local time (WS) or 17.30 WIB. Also accompanying the President on the flight to Jakarta was Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung.
During his visit to Japan, President Jokowi expressed his views in several activity forums. At the High Level Conference (Summit) Celebrating 50 Years of Friendly Relations and Cooperation between ASEAN and Japan, President Jokowi said that ASEAN and Japan had agreed on a number of shared visions and plans for implementing future partnerships.
According to him, ASEAN and Japan have agreed to increase cooperation in a number of fields ranging from the economy, education, to food and energy security.
"Strengthening food and energy security through agricultural technology cooperation, encouraging investment and technology transfer, accelerating digital transformation through HR upskilling and reskilling efforts, as well as increasing digital connectivity, especially for MSMEs," said the President when delivering a joint press statement with the Prime Minister (PM) Japan Kishida Fumio at The Okura Hotel, Tokyo, Japan, last Sunday (17/12/2023).
In addition, as partners in peace and stability, ASEAN and Japan continue to be committed to maintaining peace through inclusive collaboration, respect for the rules of international law, and strengthening ASEAN centrality. The Head of State also believes that the partnership between ASEAN and Japan will continue to contribute to maintaining regional stability and peace.
"In the spirit of friendship, I believe that the ASEAN and Japan partnership can continue to contribute to maintaining stability and peace, bringing people closer together, and driving economic growth in the region and the world," he said. (BPMI SETPRES/AIT)
