KEK Tanjung Api-Api Ready to Operate June 2018

INDUSTRY.co.id - Palembang- Tanjung Api-Api Special Economic Zone (KEK) in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatera, is targeted to operate starting June 2018 in accordance with the decision of SEZ National Council.
Special Staff of South Sumatra Governor I Gede Bagus Surya Negara in Palembang, Friday (9/8/2017) said the National Council of SEZ chaired by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Darmin Nasution asked the South Sumatera Provincial Government to ensure that 66.13 hectares of land already released in TAA area was soon built SEZ infrastructure facilities.
"The president asked KEK to run despite the new land acquisition of 66.13 hectares out of a total of 217 hectares so that the target of June 2018 already has activities there," he said.
For that, from September 2017 to June 2018 will be focused on land maturation activities that will be projected for KEK administration office and a number of other supporting buildings.
It is planned that the office will be the one-stop shop for South Kalimantan Provincial Government managed by PT Sriwijaya Mandiri Sumsel.
"Related to this action plan, the Governor of South Sumatra will meet directly with the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs," said Surya.
In addition to land cultivation, South Sumatra also moves to find business partners BUMD PT Sriwijaya Mandiri Sumsel. The private sector is expected to be interested in doing business in the field of land maturation, infrastructure development and others.
"The hope is that after the President inaugurated in June 2018, there has been a massive reclamation of landfill that takes the sand from the sea using large capacity vessels, it takes more than 1.5 years," he said as quoted by Antara.
The two reclamation sites are in Tanjung Carat area covering 2.202 hectares and Tanjung Api-Api area of 2,030 hectares which will be projected into ports and industrial estates.
Both of these locations, namely Tanjung Carat as a supporter of KEK TAA will be linked by protected forests use and borrow area which is currently being administered its licensing.
The development of KEK TAA will certainly continue because the government has secured investment in the private sector in the field of petrochemicals, refineries, and others.
A total of six investors have made a MoU with the South Sumatra provincial government, among others, PT Indorama, PT Pelindo, PT Pusri, PT Bank Sumsel Babel and PT Sriwijaya Tanjung Carat.
"For its own connectivity at the beginning of the year will be built Palembang-TAA Toll Road by Hutama Karya This year has been completed its feasibility study," he said.
