INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Industry appreciates PT United Tractors Pandu Engineering (UTPE) or better known through its brand PATRIA, which is one of the subsidiaries of PT United Tractors Tbk.
The company was established since February 8, 1983, focusing its business on machinery and manufacturing for the heavy, maritime and energy industry sectors.
This was stated by Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartato in his press statement when visiting PT United Tractor Pandu Engineering factory in North Cikarang, Bekasi, on Thursday (5/7).
We expect heavy equipment industry players can take advantage of the strengthening of commodity prices to spur production, he said.
Airlangga added that heavy equipment industry plays an important role in supporting other business activities, such as in the mining sector, processing of forest land, infrastructure development, and plantation and agriculture. This supports the acceleration of government programs in implementing downstream policies.
The policy is a step towards increasing the availability of raw materials needed to develop advanced industrial products, he said.
Meanwhile, UTPE President Director Hilman Risan explained that his office focuses on machinery and manufacturing for the heavy equipment, maritime and energy industries.
From product sales, and consolidation with its subsidiaries, UTPE projected sales in 2018 worth Rp2.2 trillion. Sixty percent of the target is from the heavy equipment industry and the rest of the maritime industry, he said.
Hilman explained that besides fulfilling domestic market needs, UTPE products have also been exported to various countries such as Russia, India, USA, France, Australia and Southeast Asia.
The Company is also adjusting to the development of industrial technology 4.0, by transforming UTPE through an intelligent plant dashboard. This effort makes the series of activities and value of UTPE increasingly connected to each other well so that the production process is better.
