INDUSTRY.co.id - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has announced plan to roll out mass vaccination to 15,000 people.
According to General Chairman of Kadin Rosan P. Roeslani, the measure aims to support the Government’s vaccination program in a bid to achieve herd immunity amid COVID-19 pandemic.
“We have reported to President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo that Kadin will roll out mass vaccination to 15,000 people during the National Conference in Kendari on 30-31 June,” Rosan said in Jakarta, Monday (28/6).
Rosan underscored that the vaccination would be carried out in an open room by observing very strict health protocols.
On that occasion, Rosan also explained about the progress of the Mutual Cooperation (Gotong Royong) vaccination drive for business people.
“As many as 28,400 companies with a total of more than 10.6 million people have registered with the program. The first batch of 500 thousand [vaccinations] has been carried out in Jakarta Greater Area for the manufacturing industry. The second batch of one million doses has arrived and injected to people in the banking and financial services,” he explained.
Rosan went on to say that the President ordered that the Mutual Cooperation program be in line with the vaccination program carried out by the Government to achieve herd immunity immediately.
Kadin, Rosan said, will continue to intensify the vaccination roll, considering that only about 500 companies have already carried out vaccinations from 28,400 companies that have registered.
“We hope the vaccine will come sooner and we can carry out this vaccination more quickly,” he said.
