INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Most Australian students who participate in Australia's New Colombo Plan apprenticeship program in 2018 choose Indonesia as a destination country rather than other countries.
"More than 2,100 students will participate in 90 projects across Indonesia next year, with diverse fields, from public health, business and commercial law, to the study of proboscis monkeys and coastal geology," Australian Ambassador to Indonesia Paul Grigson said in a statement. written in Jakarta, Thursday (8/31/2017.
According to him, the diversity of these projects shows Australia's curiosity to Indonesia.
Ambassador Grigson said students from 30 Australian universities have signed up for a grant from the New Colombo Plan to build relationships with Indonesian institutions and learn lessons during their stay and study in Indonesia.
"Students will enhance their valuable practice experience through apprenticeship and counseling with governments, nongovernmental organizations and business organizations," he said.
It is expected that after joining the program Australian students will add new friendships, connections, and views about Indonesia.
"The students will return to Australia with new friendships and connections that will last a lifetime, as well as a new perspective on Indonesia as our nearest neighbor," Ambassador Grigson said.
In 2018, more than 13,000 Australian students will participate in the New Colombo Plan mobility project in 35 Indo-Pacific countries.
The total number of students funded under this program reaches over 30,000 in five years.
