Ministry of Industry Proposes Additional Budget Allocation For 2018 Priority Program

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- The Ministry of Industry proposes an additional budget allocation to the House of Representatives for the implementation of the 2018 priority program through two mechanisms. Previously, the Ministry of Industry has obtained a budget ceiling of 2018 amounting to Rp2, 8 trillion.
"In addition to the activities already allocated to the budget ceiling of 2018, we propose an additional budget allocation of Rp778.2 billion to be used for six activities," said Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto at the Working Group Meeting with Commission VI of the House of Representatives in Jakarta on Monday (4/9/2017).
The six programs, namely the growth and development of small and medium industries (IKM) of Rp300 billion, the procurement of land Balai Besar Pulp and Paper Bandung and the construction of Baristand Manado and Baristand Medan building for Rp218, 3 billion, and procurement of testing equipment and mandatory SNI products The required SNI is Rp107.5 billion.
Furthermore, the implementation of the 3 in 1 Training (training, certification and placement) program for industrial labor candidates amounting to Rp 100 billion, the development and application of technology for the improvement of national industrial competitiveness of Rp 50 billion, and the assistance of machines and equipment of coffee processing industry of Rp2, 4 billion.
"In addition, we also propose a budget allocation for the revitalization program of Vocational High School (SMK) of Rp828.35 billion which will be financed through regional grant mechanism outside DIPA of Ministry of Industry," said Airlangga.
According to him, Kemenperin is focusing on developing competency-based vocational education program and has link and match between education and industry. This strategic move to produce quality human resources in accordance with the needs of the current job market.
"The budget is for the need to revitalize as many as 1,700 SMK or 20 percent of the total in Indonesia, because SMK equipment is now left behind two generations, so every SMK will get a budget of around Rp500 million," he explained.
Meanwhile, Airlangga continued, the company is also seriously developing industrial zones outside Java, including Sei Mangkei, Morowali, Bantaeng, Palu, Konawe, Ketapang, Landak, Bitung, Tanggamus, Kuala Tanjung, Buli, Bintuni and Batulicin.
"We also facilitate the acceleration of the development and operation of four industrial areas included in the National Strategic Project, namely JIIPE Industrial Estate Gresik, Kendal, Dumai, and Wilmar Serang," said Minister of Industry.
On the other hand, Chairman of the House of Representatives Commission VI, Teguh Juwarno Stated a conclusions in the meeting, the House of Representatives Commission VI understand the budget ceiling Kemenperin in the Budget Bill of FY 2018 of Rp2, 8 trillion.
