INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Trains connecting between the Capital and Soekarno-Hatta International Airport are confirmed to be in operation by November 2017.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi after the inauguration at the Ministry of Transportation, Jakarta, Friday (15/09/2017) said early October will be tested.

"Early October we will test, we see again on 10 (October), the end of November operate," he said.

According to Budi, currently the progress of the Airport Train construction has reached 80 percent.

Director of PT Kereta Api Indonesia Edi Sukmoro previously said that the expected mode of transportation will be the mainstay of the community will be operational in November this year.

"Hope we are optimistic November, but I say the end of the year of operation, we will still pursue as soon as possible to operate immediately because the public is very looking forward," he said.

Currently only one series of trains that come and consists of six trains from PT Industri Kereta Api (Inka). Next month will come a total of 10 series of KA.

Related to the readiness of the track, he will re-evaluate because previously the Duri-Batu Cepet line is all quiet, then used for electric train (KRL) is quite dense, because it needs to be set again.

He said the number of KRL passengers in a day has reached one million people from 900,000 people before.

"There are arrangements that we calculate, if Airport Train comes in, there are other calculations, so the solid Tangerang KA is a solution," said Edi.

The airport train rate is Rp80,000-Rp100,000, but is still recalculated due to the swelling of land acquisition costs.

A series of Airport Trains can accommodate 274 single passengers or a total of 33,000 passengers out of a total of 124 train trips with 10 train lines per day.

The Airport Train Route is the new Manggarai-Sudirman-Duri-Batu Ceper-Soetta Airport which can be reached within 54 minutes.
