INDUSTRY.co.id - Tangerang - Teminal Soekarno-Hatta Airport 1, 2, and 3 on Sunday (17/9/2017) yesterday has officially operated the train service between airport terminals or skytrain.

Skytrain is an unmanned train that will serve the transfer of passenger plane or airport visitors every two hours.

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the skytrain will operate unmanned. However, because it is still the stage of socialization then during the next six months the train will still involve the driver.

"The initial phase of this train will pass a route along the 1700 meters with a capacity of 176 train sets of people," explained Budi in Jakarta, Sunday (17/09/2017).

After officially operating, the airport skytrain does not directly serve the entire terminal, but only the route connecting Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.

However, after the first phase of operation, the skytrain at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in the future will also serve the transfer to Terminal 1, integrated building, then connected to Terminal 3.

In the first phase of operation, airport skytrain will also operate at certain times only, precisely at 07:00 to 10:00 pm, then from 13:00 to 14:00 pm, and from 17:00 to 19:00 pm. Passengers can also check the schedule of Skytrain through Indonesia Airport application on smartphone.

The three-hour operation policy that has not been 24 hours was done to evaluate the facility and noted if there are still shortcomings to be completed.

"This will be applied until the end of the year, can only operate fully," said Public Relations Manager PT Angkasa Pura II Yado Yarismano, Friday (15/09/2017) ago.

The inauguration of the skytrain is assessed on schedule after the Director General of Railway Ministry of Transportation verifies and issues the certificate of passing the test.
