INDUSTRY.co.id - London - British Government Special Envoy on Trade for Asia. Richard Graham MP convey the opportunities of cooperation between Indonesia and the UK is still very wide covering various sectors such as aviation, defense, cyber, education, maritime and smart city.
It was addressed by Richard Graham MP in his speech to the Indonesia Briefing held by the Indonesian Embassy in London, in cooperation with Bank Indonesia representative office in London, Trade Attaché and Indonesia Investment Promotion Center (IIPC) at the Indonesian Embassy in London, Tuesday (19/9/2017).
Minister Counselor of the Indonesian Embassy in London, Thomas Siregar said the first Indonesia Briefing event to be held in London is a forum to provide information on the development of economic, political, social and cultural conditions, as well as various investment and trade opportunities to stakeholders in the UK.
Indonesian Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Dr. Rizal Sukma conveyed Indonesia with credential as the world's largest democracy which is also a member of G20, has various potentials that have not received attention from business circles in Europe especially UK.
Minister of Women Empowerment and Child Protection, Prof. Dr. Yohana Yembise, in the keynote speech, attributes the role of Indonesian women as an important part of the decision-making process in development in Indonesia. Women also play an important role in the economy, he said.
Indonesian Briefing panel discussion guided by experts and observers in the field of politics, economy and socio-culture is divided into three sessions: an update on political and macroeconomic stability featuring Executive Director of International Department of Bank Indonesia. In the closing session, Indonesian women's empowerment, especially in politics and development by Ibu Hana A. Satriyo, from Asia Foundation, while in business by Mrs. Helianti Hilman, founder of Javara Culinary and improvement of woman access in financial sector, Peter Jacobs represented Bank Indonesia.
The enthusiasm of the participants, mostly from the UK business circles, is very remarkable from the number of participants reaching 120 people. Seeing the positive interest in organizing Indonesia Briefing as a means of updating various stakeholders in the UK, will become the annual priority program of the Indonesian Embassy in London in the future.
