INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - In the presence of SOE Minister Rini Soemarno, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution, Menkominfo Rudiantara, and about 500 participants of the seminar, President Jokowi emphasized the importance of opening up the room as much as possible for startup development.
"This is also the reason why deregulation is necessary, to reduce the overlap of rules and requirements that impede new ways, new patterns, new innovations," President Jokowi said during a seminar titled "New Economy in the Digital Age", on the sidelines of the Indonesia Business Digital Expo (IBDExpo) 2017 at the Jakarta Convention Center on Wednesday (20/09/2017)
The President added that in the past there was little permission, but a number of conditions were raised to permit, thus accumulating more and more regulations.
"It's our job, it's my job to cut so few permissions, so that the business world is getting more agile, flexible to release new innovations," he said.
While in terms of infrastructure, the President said that ICT infrastructure should continue to be pursued.
"Infrastructure is key, Palapa Ring Development always I ask almost every day to the Minister, when will it be for East Indonesia, Central Indonesia," he said.
The President also highlighted the importance of handling cyber security. "In the last few months the cyber-attacks have become even more powerful, the 'ramsonware, wanncacry' virus." "The strategy to deal with cybercrime must be our thinking, and a few months ago the government established Cyber and Sandi Negara, in the process of institutionalization," said the President.
