INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta- Transportation sector is not only relevant from the side of direct investment, but also indirect impact. and support tourism investment.
'Flight connectivity is very important for the tourism sector, which is now a very successful flight in tourism investment,' said BKPM chief Thomas Lembong, in Jakarta yesterday.
"Thanks to the effort and success of Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) to develop many new airports so that many airlines fly to new tourism destinations, now investment in the tourism sector grows 30 percent per year," said Thomas.
Thomas also exemplifies the development of e-commerce is highly dependent on the aviation world. "All e-commerce must be distributed using freight. 70-90 percent of e-commerce merchandise is transported by air, things like this should also be discussed at the meeting of the Asian Transport Ministers of Europe in ASEM TMM later, "Thomas concluded.
Thomas added that the Ministry of Transportation with BKPM is a strategic step. This is considering that BKPM is one of three participants of Public Private Partnership Center (PPP Center). The other two institutions that are members of PPP Center are Ministry of Finance and Ministry of National Development Planning / Bappenas.
"After this we must contact our partners in PPP Center, Ministry of Finance and Bappenas, so we can learn about the projects and discourses offered by Kemenhub which are suitable for PPP or PINA (Non Government Budget Investment Financing)," Thomas.
Regarding the prospect of investors who will invest, Thomas said it depends on the origin of the investor. "The prospective investor depends on the region. If from Europe our estimate of investment is pension and insurance, but if from China or from Japan it is more conglomerate, or can SOE them like SOE of China or Government Link from Japan. So indeed each region is different investors, "said Thomas.
