Jababeka Prepares 50 Hectare Land for Film Production in SEZ Tanjung Lesung

INDUSTRY.co.id - Hengdian, the first open-air industrial development company in Indonesia, PT Jababeka Tbk is preparing 50 hectares of land for film production location in Tanjung Lesung Special Economic Zone (KEK), Pandeglang Regency, Banten.

"For the initial phase, maybe three or five hectare first, but at least we have prepared 50 hectares," said Director of PT Jababeka Setiawan Mardjuki on a visit to Hengdian World Studios, Zhejiang Province, China, Friday (05/26/2017).

Currently in KEK Tanjung lesung has available four-star hotels and some other tourism accommodation. According to Setiawan, KEK Tanjung Lesung is not inferior to Hengdian which has now become the center of film production location similar to Hollywood in the United States.

"We have beaches and natural forests, coupled with artificial properties, certainly more interesting than in Hengdian," said Setiawan.

Tanjung Lesung is located not too far from Jakarta, which is only about 180 kilometers and can be reached in a road trip for four hours. Same with the location of Hengdian World Studios which can be reached by land over four hours from Shanghai.

"If there is already a filming location like in Hengdian then I am sure more and more tourists who come to Tanjung Lesung," said Setiawan.

PT Jababeka Tbk has received permission from the government for the development of Tanjung Lesung tourism area of ​​Pandeglang, Banten and Morotai regencies, North Maluku, as part of 10 mainstay tourist destinations.

To support access to cape mortar, the Government is preparing land transportation modes, air, and strengthen the means of sea transportation.
