Two Indonesian Airports Achieve World Award

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Two airports in Indonesia, under the auspices of PT Angkasa Pura I, are awarded internationally by the Airport Council International (ACI). Both are I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali and Sultan Hasanuddin, Makassar.
Director General of ACI, Angela Gittens revealed that the airport in Bali was named the 3rd Best in the world, based on the assessment throughout 2016. I Gusti Ngurah Rai is considered the best for the category of airports with a capacity of 15 to 25 million passengers per year.
"While Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar became The Most Improved Airport in Asia Pacific-2016," said Angela quoted from his official statement on Tuesday (24/10/2017).
ASQ is the only global benchmarking program that measures passenger satisfaction at airports. While ACI is a leading airport organization in the world based in Montreal, Canada. They have 573 members who operate 1,751 airports in 174 countries and territories. The number of airports represents 95 percent of the world's airport traffic.
Angela explained that ACI's survey involved 600 thousand airport passengers in 41 languages in 84 countries throughout 2016. The survey measures passenger views on 34 key performance indicators, including airport access, check-in, security screening, toilets, and shops restaurants at the airport.
"This survey is conducted exactly at each airport, allowing every airport to compare itself to other airports around the world and how best practices for world-class airport operators," he said.
Meanwhile, President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), Danang S. Baskoro appreciated this achievement. This recognition is a clear proof of their hard work.
"We are focused on improving service to airport users and creating a service culture continuously as a competitive advantage of the company," he said.
