Minister of Transportation Ask Conventional and Online Taxes Collaborate

INDUSTRY.co.id - Pekanbaru - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi requested taxi business of commercial and conventional rental cars to collaborate and coordinate with the governor and the regional police chief.

"If onlibe and conventional taxis can be collaborative, will create a fair business and conducive atmosphere," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya to the press in Pekanbaru, Riau, Saturday (4/11/2017)

This was conveyed by the Minister of Transportation after the socialization of the Minister of Transportation Decree No. 108 of 2017 as a substitute of PM 26/2017 on the Implementation of Transport of People with Public Vehicles Not in the trajectory that became the legal umbrella of special lease transport.

Present in the socialization were Riau Governor Arsyadjuliandi Rachman, Riau Police Chief Inspector General Pol Nandang, Police of Riau Police, Department of Transportation and entrepreneurs and transporters in Riau.

It said the Minister of Transportation, the government has issued a decision as a legal umbrella in the implementation of online taxis.

According to him, the existence of an online taxi is a necessity that must be faced in line with advances in information technology.

"Therefore online taxis must be arranged in order to create justice by conventional taxis," he told media crews.

In the implementation of the decision in force November 1, 2017, said Budi, the role of governor as regional head and polda is very strategic and important.

Riau Governor Arsyad juliandi Rachman said the Minister of Transportation's decision was already awaited as the legal basis in operating an online taxi. "We in Riau strongly support the new regulation of the MoC so that online taxis can be implemented," he said.

He also agreed to need a collaboration of online and conventional taxis in order to create a fair business.
