INDUSTRY.co.id - Manila - Indonesian President Joko Widodo held a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Manila, Philippines, on Sunday afternoon ahead of the East Asia Summit Leaders' Retreat.
"Today there are two activities of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, one of which is bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe," said Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi in Manila, Philippines, Sunday (12/11/2017)
Foreign Minister Retno said that the bilateral meeting between the President and the Prime Minister of Japan this time is an important meeting because it will discuss the plan to commemorate 60 years of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Japan in 2018.
"Indonesia and Japan will be celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations, and in the bilateral meeting, the two leaders will discuss about the activities of the activities that will be done for the 60th anniversary of the relationship," he said.
In addition, according to Foreign Minister, President Jokowi and PM Abe plans to launch the logo of 60 years of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Japan.
Furthermore, Foreign Minister Retno mentioned that in the bilateral meeting, the two state leaders will discuss about various infrastructure development cooperation between Indonesia and Japan.
"Prime Minister Abe and President Jokowi will discuss cooperation projects on infrastructure development with Japan in Indonesia, such as the construction of Patimban Port in Subang, West Java, Mass Rapid Transit, and other projects," he said.
After a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, President Jokowi and Mrs. Iriana will attend the Special Gala Celebration for the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN, held at SMX Convention Center, Manila.
