INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Industry, Airlangga Hartarto attended the invitation of Coca-Cola Investor Day in Jakarta, Thursday night (23/11/2017).

As is known, the food and beverage industry is a very strategic sector and still has a pretty bright business prospects in the country. This is shown through the growth performance in the first half of 2017 which reached 7.69 percent. Meanwhile, its contribution to the national GDP of 6.06 percent.
The role of the food and beverage industry subsector contributes to non-oil and gas industry GDP, the largest compared to other subsectors, reaching 33.63 percent in the first half of 2017.
In addition, the realization of investment in the food and beverage industry in the same period amounted to Rp21, 6 trillion for PMDN and USD1, 18 billion for FDI.
"The support from the ministry of industry is very important to the industry," he said.
My expectation of food and beverage industry in Indonesia which grows 9.46% this year will continue to show a positive development and contribute more to the national economic growth.
With such a glorious performance, Minister of Industry said that his party actively encourages domestic food and beverage industry actors to strive to improve quality, productivity and efficiency throughout the series of production process.
In line with that step, it is also necessary to improve the competence of human resources as well as research and development activities.
"We expect Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia to contribute to the development of competency-based SMK programs that link and match with the industry," he said.
For information, since its inception in Indonesia in 1992, Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia has 39 production lines in eight factories employing 10,000 employees to serve more than 500 thousand retail customers in both urban and rural areas of Indonesia, around 120 thousand of which are spread in Sumatra region.
