Through Inacham, RI-Hongkong Strengthen Cooperation of Industrial Sector

INDUSTRY.co.id - Hongkong, the Ministry of Industry has appreciated the efforts of the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) of Hong Kong and the Indonesian-Hong Kong business community that has initiated the formation of Indonesia Chamber of Commerce (Inacham) in Hong Kong.

Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Haris Munandar said the organization can strengthen the network and cooperation between industry players of both countries.

"We fully support the formation of Inacham Hong Kong, hopefully Indonesia can attract more investment from Hong Kong, and on the contrary more and more opportunities for Indonesian companies to expand the market in Hong Kong," said Haris Munandar while attending Inacham Inauguration Ceremony in Hong Kong (30 / 11/2017) yesterday.

Haris explained, now is the right moment for investors to invest in Indonesia. This is in line with the commitment of the Indonesian government to create a conducive investment climate through various strategic measures such as the issuance of a number of economic policy packages. "So it can facilitate business actors doing business in Indonesia," he said.

Moreover, referring to the World Bank's annual report related to the 2018 Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) ranking, Indonesia's effortlessness ranking in 2018 as a whole rose 19th place from 91st position to 72th position from 190 countries surveyed.

In EoDB 2017, Indonesia's position also increased 15 ranks from 106 to 91. Recorded in the last two years Indonesia's position rose 34 ranks. "In fact, in addition to proposing competitive industrial energy prices, we have also proposed a new incentive scheme for domestic industries to make their performance more productive and global competitive," said Haris.

These fiscal incentives will be provided to industries committed to the development of vocational and innovation education and export-oriented labor-intensive industries.

It is hoped that the formation of Inacham in Hong Kong, economic and trade relations between the two countries is increasing and benefiting from ASEAN economic integration.

During this time, Hong Kong is an important trading partner and one of the largest investment source in Indonesia. Hong Kong also sees Indonesia as one of its strategic partners, visible from the opening of the Hong Kong Trade and Development Council (HKTDC) and Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office (HKETO) office in Jakarta.
