Large and Medium Manufacturing Growth Rose in The Third Quarter

INDUSTRY.co.id - Makassar - Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of South Sulawesi recorded the growth rate of large and medium manufacturing industry in quarter III / 2017 increased 0.81 percent compared to second quarter / 2017.

"Based on the data q to q` between the third quarter and the second quarter there is an increase and increase is not too large but still quite good," said Head of South Sulawesi BPS Nursam Salam in Makassar, yesterday.

He explained that the growth of production of large and medium manufacturing industry on an annual basis (y on y) in the third quarter of 2017 increased by 3.26 percent compared to the third quarter of 2016.

The achievements of South Sulawesi's large and medium manufacturing industries were below the national growth of 5.51 percent in the same period.

He mentioned the types of large and medium manufacturing that experienced an increase in production growth in quarter IIIV / 2017 is the wood industry.

In the wood industry, wood and cork goods (excluding furniture) and wickerwork from bamboo, rattan and the like, increased by 6.44 percent. Likewise with non-metal mining industry, up by 3.98 percent.

"The increase in the wood industry is quite good in q to q and the number reaches 6.44 percent, then there is the non-metal mining industry also rose 3.98 percent," he said.

Nursam admitted if the manufacturing industry in Indonesia became one of the drivers in economic growth, both domestically and nationally.
