INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources noted that the portion of renewable energy (EBT) in the power generation energy mix continues to increase in 2017.
This increase not only occurs in power plants built by PLN but also power plants built by private power companies (Independent Power Producer / IPP).
"The portion of EBT in the energy-generating power mix reaches 12.52% realization as of November 2017. This figure exceeds the target of APBN-P 2017 which is 11.96% mainly from PLTA and PLTP," said Agung Pribadi, Head of Communications Service Bureau Public Information and Cooperation, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) in an official statement on Sunday (7/1/2018).
The 12.52% EBT mix consists of Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP) of 5%, hydroelectric power (PLTA) of 7.27% and other EBT of about 0.25%.
Increased production is seen in PLTP. Until November 2017, electricity production from PLTP reached 11,560 Giga Watt hour (GWh), while the previous year was 10,656 GWh.
In addition to PLTP, electricity production from PLTA is also quite good with a production of 16,793 GWh, of which 11,154 GWh is built by PLN, while the remaining 5,639 GWh is built by IPP. In addition, the production of other EBT power plants accounted for 579 GWh in the 2017 power generation mix.
The government's commitment is very clear in improving the EBT mix for generators. As evidence, throughout 2017, 68 EBT Power Purchase Agreements have been signed with a total capacity of approximately 1.2 Giga Watt.
"Efficient EBT development continues to be pushed out of 68 PPA renewable energies by 2017, we are continuing to ensure immediate financial close and construction as soon as possible," said Agung.
