INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta, Deputy of Natural Resources Coordination and Ministry of Marine Affairs Coordinator Agung Kuswandono assessed that Presidential Regulation No.71 / 2015 on Stipulation and Storage of Basic Needs and Important Goods needs to be revised so that salt can be included in important goods category .
"Salt is not only a supporting material, but an important ingredient, because the classification of goods to be included in the category of important goods is having an impact on inflation and high consumption," said Agung at Menara Kadin Jakarta (2/2/2018).
According to him, the amount of salt needed for consumption is not high, about 3 kilograms per person in a year. However, the need for salt for industry is very high, which can be up to 4 million tons per year.
He mentioned there are about 400 industries that use salt as the main ingredient of its production. "Main ingredients in the industry from food, clothing, to boards, for example food, pampers, sanitary napkins, Pipe, plastics, cables, bottle cleaners, textiles, fodder," he said.
Currently, the revision plan of the Presidential Regulation is under discussion. He has coordinated with the Director General of Foreign Trade Ministry of Trade (Kemendag).
However, the recommendation decision requires votes from all relevant ministries or agencies. Thus, the Coordinating Ministry for the Ministry of Marine Affairs will hold a coordination meeting with the relevant ministries or agencies before the submission letter is given to the Cabinet Secretariat (Setkab).
"We gather together first, we will do coordination meetings We are not really coordinated, this is where we are talking here, collide, we basically put salt into an important material," said Agung.
He said, the step to revise the Presidential Regulation is not too difficult. Provided there is a mutual agreement. "They agree that we will make it easy, in the near future, we will send a letter, maybe next week, next week again," he explained.
However, he can not be sure when the Presidential Regulation will be complete. "But God willing, fast because this is just a matter of adding salt to the important stuff, that is, between weeks and months," Agung concluded.
