INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Vice President Jusuf Kalla received the "Benevolence Award" from the World Economic Cooperation of China (WCES) and the Asian Institute of Leadership and Strategy (ASLI) submitted to the Vice President's Office on Monday (12/2/2018).
The award was handed over by the Chairman of the World Chinese Economic Summit who is also Director of Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute, Michael Yeoh, and WCES founder Lee Kim Yew.
"This award is very important to cultivate harmonization, because as stated earlier that he said leaders in China strongly prioritize harmony between Chinese businessmen and others (non-Chinese, red.)," said the Vice President in his speech.
The Vice President said that the effort to realize business togetherness between entrepreneurs is needed to improve the economic growth of a country. Moreover, with a good economy, a country will avoid social conflict.
Vice President Kalla exemplified such as in the Middle East and Asia, where the disharmony between communities there is less awake, resulting in conflict.
"We know how war happens in the Middle East, in Asia, the problem is disharmonization, how harmonization between communities and life there, but at the same time growth (economy) is important," he explained.
The Benevolence Award was awarded at the WCE Summit in November 2017, but Vice President Jusuf Kalla was unable to attend the summit so that his award presentation was only handed over on Monday.
The President's Special Envoy for Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation, Din Syamsuddin, said "Benevolence Award" is the highest award given every WCES event.
