INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Application of TOD dwelling concept in Indonesia is considered a little late. Because the remaining land is very minimal to be developed, in addition to flats and cheap apartments.

"We are less fortunate, we build TOD when our situation is solid," said Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in the seminar of international Infrastructure-led Large Scale Development: TOD, New Town and Affordable Housing TOD at Raffles Hotel, Jakarta, Wednesday (14/2 / 2018).

In anticipation, specifically to the Regional Government (Pemda) which is developing LRT network, has been reminded to provide legal umbrella for the procurement of land for occupancy.

"We still have time and all the stakeholders have to find together a certain format and best," said Minister of Transportation.

In the same occasion, Head of Jabodetabek Transportation Management Agency (BPTJ), Bambang Prihartono explained, there are provisions that must be fulfilled in the development of TOD.

Among them how far away residents have to walk from home to public transportation and Coefficient Building Area (KLB).

"The pedestrian should be no more than 7 minutes, if he is too far then people will be lazy to move another mode of transportation, while the outbreak should not be low, minimal 5 or 6 floors, the higher the better," he explained.
