INDUSTRY.co.id - Jayapura, PT PP (Persero) Tbk, one of the construction and investment companies is currently working on the Holtekamp Bridge project, Jayapura.

The Holtekamp bridge connects Holtekamp mainland with Hamadi mainland, with the main span length of the bridge reaching 433 meters, while the approaching span bridge reaches 900 meters.

The funding source for the construction of the Holtekamp Bridge comes from the APBN and APBD with a contract value of Rp1.27 trillion, with the PP-HK-NK Consortium as the Main Contractor.

President Director of PTPP Tumiyana stated that Holtekamp Bridge project is an example of BUMN synergy, with PT PP (Persero) Tbk, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) Consortium and PT Nindya Karya (Persero) as Main Contractor. Segmental steel welding works segmentally by PT Boma Bisma Indra (Persero).

"While the final assembly and loadout is done in PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) workshop.
The process of appointment and installation of center span on the construction of the Jayapura Holtekamp Bridge was halted due to a moratorium or temporary suspension of elevated construction work, "he said in Jayapura, Wednesday (21/2/2018).

With these instructions, he said, some projects must be stopped temporarily including Holtekamp Bridge, where the Holtekamp Bridge project is planned to appoint and install a 2000 ton center span with a height of 20 meters, a width of 26 meters and a length of 112.5 meters on Wednesday (21/02).

According to him, when the weather and wave conditions are expected to be good. One day after the instruction was posted, the bridge installation work continued today, Wednesday (21/02).

Director General of Highways at the Ministry of PUPR Arie Setiadi Moerwanto said the installation of the bridge frame was continued because it has been evaluated and tested by the Construction Safety Commission and the Bridge Security Commission Long and Tunnel Road. The evaluation results stated that the bridge steel frame is feasible to continue.

Arie Setiadi Moerwanto, who also serves as one of Commissioner of PT PP (Persero) Tbk, added that this bridge becomes an infrastructure project with the first flyover that may be resumed after the temporary suspension instruction.

Right at 11:00 WIT after approval, the process of appointment and installation of center span begins. The appointment process is estimated to take 6 hours, but at 15.30 WIT the center span is in position and dimension adjustment is made.

On this achievement, the Consortium of PP-HK-NK and Director General of Highways broke 2 (two) world records from the World Record Museum of Indonesia (MURI), namely: Appointment and Installation of Steel Bridge Frame in the Intact Most Intact Shipment of Central Steel Curved Steel Frame with the Furthest Distance of 3,200 Kilometers The award ceremony of 2 (two) MURI Award Awards was received directly by PTPP M. Toha Fauzi Director of Infrastructure Construction in Jayapura on Wednesday (21/02).

Holtekamp Bridge is done by the first method in Indonesia, that is strand lifting method (full span). This method takes into consideration the seismic risk factors at the project sites that are high, so it would be very risky if the implementation process is done completely on site.

The main concept of this method is to work on the installation process as quickly as possible to reduce the risk of the earthquake. In view of these risk factors, the main spreading steel welding work is segmentally conducted in Pasuruan by PT Bromo Steel Indonesia, a subsidiary of PT Boma Bisma Indra (Persero).

The final assembly or assembly of all segments becomes the framework of the intact bridge and the loadout is done at PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) workshop in Surabaya, which has adequate facilities and equipped with port. In the ceremonial event delivery of Holtekamp central span in Surabaya, last December
