Indonesia's Manufacturing Industry Entered the Top Five of the World

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Airlangga Hartarto said Indonesia contributes 2.5% to world economic growth. This outperformed contributions from other countries such as South Korea, Australia, Canada, Britain, Japan, Brazil and Russia. Even Airlangga said Indonesia became one of the key to the engine of world economic growth.
"From the manufacturing sector, Indonesia's contribution to GDP, in the top five of the world, outperforms Japan, India and the US Even among the developing countries, only Indonesia and China are in the top five," he said. Airlangga in Jakarta, Monday (26/2/2018).
The results of the World Economic Forum analysis, Asia is increasingly dominating world growth in 2017 and is expected to the next year. Asia's contribution to world GDP in 2010 was 34%. It is predicted to increase to 43.8% by 2019. Of course Indonesia contribution considerably to that dominance.
Meanwhile, for the regional scope, Asean is the second largest engine in driving world economic growth after the contribution from China. Southeast Asia region which has more than 500 million people is considered a potential market in building a manufacturing production base.
Meanwhile, if seen from the economic growth, Indonesia is able to reach 5.2% or above the average acquisition of ASEAN by 5.1 per cent. That is, Indonesia plays an important role in spurring the economy in ASEAN.
