INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - encourages the acceleration of economic growth in eastern Indonesia, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III explores strategic cooperation with three private companies to build Waingapu Indonesia port. The three private companies are PT, Muria Sumba Manis, Sribolga Flour Mill and PT Adaro Energy Tbk.

"MoC worth Rp 1 trillion aims to save logistics costs and improve the local business climate," said Pelindo III CEO Ari Askhara at the signing of MoC at the representative office of Pelindo III, Parama Tamansari Office Tower, Kebon Sirih, Menteng, Jakarta, Monday (12 / 3).

Ari explained that the partnership with PT Muria Sumba Manis is related to the provision of port facilities and services and related services for the development of sugarcane plantations and sugar mills in the Port of Waingapu, East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Sugarcane plantations and sugar mills to be operated by PT Muria Sumba Manis require port facilities, port support and adequate loading and unloading equipment.

Based on geographical considerations, the most strategic port to be used in the sugar cane project is Waingapu Port. The port is also included in the Port of Tenau Kupang which is the working area of ​​Pelindo lll branch. In this sugar and sugar plantation project, the vessel will dock at Waingapu Port and the loading and unloading process will be handled by Pelindo III.

"Pelindo III does not only run the business by optimizing the strategic asset of Port Waingapu to support the development of sugar cane plantations and sugar mills PT Muria Sumba Manis, but there is also a great spirit to help accelerate economic growth in eastern Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, the joint venture between Pelindo II and PT Sriboga Flour Mill is for the management of port facilities for dry-food grain terminal in Port of Tanjung Emas, Semarang.

Ari explained, Pelindo ll will optimize the use of port assets while Sriboga Flour Mill which will get the right management of two plots of land about 40,000 square meters. The land will be used to build a port facility in the form of a dry-food grain terminal to support industry and community needs in the long term. The concept of cooperation used is the BTO (build-transfer-operate) for 16 units of silos, suction, and a 30% port of capital from Pelindo III and 70% from Sriboga.

Meanwhile, for cooperation with PT Adaro Energy Tbk will be devoted to the management of developing the Port of Mekar Putih, South Kalimantan. The goal is that this port can become a strategic hub port and bulk terminal that handles bulk and dry bulk goods and other commodities.

"The government through Pelindo III will synergize with the private sector to develop the nation," said Ari.

The signing was done directly by CEO of Pelindo Lll Ari Askhara, Director of PT Muria Sumba Manis Welly, President Director of PT Sriboga Flour Mill Alwin Arifin, CEO of Adaro Group / PT Indonesia Bulk Terminal Garibaldi Thohir, and witnessed by Deputy Minister of SOE Construction, Transportation Facilities and Infrastructure Ahmad Bambang.
