Technoplast Invites the Public to Understand How to Use the Right Plastic Container

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - In order to educate the market regarding the appropriate use of plastic containers, a manufacturer of household appliances based on plasticware, Technoplast held a seminar entitled 'Wisely using plastic containers for a great life'.

The event was attended by three speakers at once. The first speaker was a scientist from the University of Indonesia (UI). Is Emil Budianto, who is Director of School of Environmental Sciences, UI.

Followed by the second speaker who is a public figure and health observer, Lula Kamal, as well as the third speaker who is Vice Chief Production Officer Technoplast, Hartadi Alamsyah.

Emil Budianto brings material about the type of code that is listed on every plastic. Launching data from the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) there are 6 types of plastic for food containers. The following plastic types are; Polyethylene Tereftalate (PET), High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC), Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE), Polypropylene (PP), and Polycarbonate (PC).

He added that, the six types of plastics have their respective functions. Indonesian people should now start to know that every type of plastic has a different treatment. Some do not get hot directly and some do not get cold temperatures.

"Wisely using plastic containers can be done in three ways, which is choosing a plastic material that is not harmful to health and environmentally friendly, plastic packaging design is the least waste, and become a smart consumer." Said Emil.

The explanation from Emil is reinforced by the research that he did about plastic containers.

Meanwhile, Lula Kamal states, as a doctor and mother to his children, quite tight in the selection of products that will be used. In the case of plastic containers, Lula Kamal is sure to use a product if the product has a logo or a BPA Free tag on some types of plastic.

"Another consideration in choosing a plastic container product, not to forget also based on functional and design," said Lula.

On the same occasion, Hartadi Alamsyah also explained about how standardization applied by Technoplast so as able to produce quality product.

According to him, the formula is a procedure that he applied in producing a product, is based on chemical quality, performance and processability.
