Kertajati Airport Create Economic Independence in West Java

INDUSTRY.co.id - Majalengka - Director General of Air Transportation Agus Santoso revealed the position of Kertajati Airport is very strategic and connects the transport nodes. With so Agus hope the existence of this airport will be able to grow the economy in West Java.

"There will be economic independence in West Java. Patimban 40 kilometers from here to the coast, Transjawa and railways that enter here connect the existing network path that has an integrated node, "said Agus.

The progress of Kertajati International Airport development now has reached 91.07% while for the air side has been completed 100%. The airport has a runway or runway measuring 2,500 x 60 meters and will be extended to 3,000 x 60 meters. With this runway this airport can be landed by aircraft similar Boeing 777.

In addition there is also apron size 576 x 151 square meters that can accommodate as many as 10 wide-body aircraft. On the land side Kertajati Airport has a passenger terminal of 92,000 square meters.

As reported, Kertajati Airport is targeted for a soft opening at the 3rd week of May this year. Minister of Transportation targets with the soft opening plan is expected Kertajati Airport can be a mode of transportation solution during Eid in June.

According to the plan at an early stage Kertajati Airport will serve domestic flights to 5 cities first. To that end, the MoC requested both BIJB and PT Angkasa Pura II as the operator of Kertajati Airport to immediately offer to a number of airlines.

Domestic flights include, Medan, Surabaya, Bali, Makassar and Kalimantan. In addition, Kertajati Airport will also be used as an airport embarkation Hajj. Initial stage there will be 7 flights embarkation Hajj through this airport.
