According to SBY, food security and self-sufficiency in this country is important. However, more than that, the most important is the welfare of farmers, it is very important to note.
"Do not let the farmers to extinguish the bones during the night, the heat of rain, produce rice, but sold the price is not how much." The profits of middlemen - this is not fair, "said SBY.
Therefore, SBY asked farmers also do not sell rice in rice fields directly to middlemen. Because, the price is low, farmers can not profit. Preferably harvested once into grain, wet or dry.
"The government must also pay attention, do not let the parties to play with the price of the food that causes the farmers to lose, should be equally profitable," said SBY.
In the dialogue, farmers complained about a number of issues to SBY. Among them is the difficulty of getting subsidized fertilizer until the quality of raskin is bad.
"To get fertilizer, farmers must have an account at BRI, so to take, come to BRI just take fertilizer in the warehouse, it is not practical, it is very difficult for us," said Rujiman.
Meanwhile, another farmer, Sengkono, complained about the quality of raskin that is considered unfit to eat. "Each of our rice crops is of international quality, very good, but why rice distributed by the government to the people is not feasible, it can not be eaten," he said.
