Minister of Transportation: Double Track Line KA Bogor-Sukabumi Absorbs 1.420 Manpower

INDUSTRY.co.id - Sukabumi - Bogor-Sukabumi double track train construction program can absorb 1,420 workers or 158 workers per day. This certainly can provide income and welfare for the surrounding community.

This was conveyed by Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi after reviewing the program of dual work of double track KA in Tenjoayu Village, Sukabumi on Saturday (7/4) afternoon

"We specifically ask the contractor to allocate some of the work for human labor, so it is not a help but a cash-intensive work, which means that all possible work done by our brothers is done by our brothers," said Minister of Transportation.

"As an illustration, usually 8% of the construction work can be allocated as work (labor-intensive) .We have to work for about 1,400 workers in this project for 3 months," said Minister of Transportation.

Furthermore, every worker can earn around Rp. 3 million / month or in accordance with the Regional Minimum Wage (UMR).
 
"Approximately a day worker gets Rp 100 thousand. it will be more if full (work) get Rp 3 million, but if not they get Rp 2.6 million. All according to UMR yes," explained Minister of Transportation.

The MoC also explains that labor-intensive programs are not only implemented in Cigombong-Cicurug but also in projects such as the queen harbor project in Sukabumi, projects in Central Java and Makassar.

The MoC expects this labor-intensive program to provide livelihood and prosperity for the community.

"The spirit is a win , meaning that the government gets the help of labor and they (the people) earn income, hope that they have a livelihood and provide prosperity for the community, therefore we always say solid work for welfare," said Minister of Transportation.
