Holtekamp Bridge Became a New Economic Point

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jayapura- President Joko Widodo expects the Holtekamp bridge to be a new economic point for people in Jayapura city and even to other cities.
"I think this will be the longest bridge we expect to grow a new economic point in Jayapura and surrounding areas," said President Joko Widodo on the edge of Holtekamp Bridge Jayapura on Thursday (12/4/2018)
The President visited the 732-meter Holtekamp Bridge above Youtefa Bay and linked Jayapura City with Muara Tami District in Papua Province and Skouw Papua New Guinea.
"This Holtekamp Bridge which if we remember it all started in May 2015 and we expect later in late 2018 is completed, and with a length of 732 meters bridge and added the right-hand stretch of the road 7800 meters," said the President.
The bridge cut the travel time from Jayapura City to the border of Skouw which was originally 2.5 hours to 60 minutes.
"And we expect also in addition to the new economic growth point of the area around the bridge is also a beautiful tourist spot, a beautiful, nice that can bring the tour because it is designed by our own bridge built on site here part of the arch bridge built in PT PAL in Surabaya, "added the President.
The specialty of this bridge are the two curves centered along 112.5 meters, with a height of 20 meters, a width of 26 meters and a weight of 2000 tons installed by PT PAL Surabaya.
"This bridge connects the city of Jayapura mainly with the cross-border post at Skouw, especially there and collaboration works between the city government, the provincial government, the governor and the central government there is a good share of it," the President said.
The bridge worth Rp943.6 billion was done by a consortium of PT PP (Persero), Tbik, PT Hutama Karya (Persero), PT Nindya Karya (Persero).
The President tried to walk on this 80 percent newly completed bridge by 100 meters accompanied by Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimulyono and Jayapura Mayor Benhur Tomi Mano.
In addition, President and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo also tried to board a "Chess Partners" ship that sailed in Youtefa Bay under the Holtekamp bridge to conduct an interview with one of the private television stations.
