INDUSTRY.co.id - Tangerang - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) will build terminal 4 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, Banten to accommodate 100 million passengers by 2025.

"To accommodate 100 million passengers, there should be additional terminals," said President Director of AP II Muhammad Awaluddin in a joint review of Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi in Tangerang on Sunday (15/4/2018)

He said this year will be the preparation of the basic design first, then conducted a technical study or "detailed engineering design" (DED).

"The order must empty the land first there because it must prepare the land, this year 'basic design' (basic design) then DED," he said.

Awaluddin said it would also hire experienced consultants to build world-class airport terminals, could be foreign consultants and cooperation.

"At least the experience of building a 'global standard terminal', the design should also be as detailed and must be in sync with the previous terminal," he said.

He added if the process is in accordance with the schedule of workmanship, then the final 2019 will begin construction of terminal 4.

"It means from now until 2025 that parallel development continues not stop," he said.

Awaluddin said the capacity of terminal 4 is more or less the same as Terminal 3 which can accommodate 25 million passengers per year.

For this year, the capital expenditure owned by AP II is Rp18.7 trillion and has been approved by shareholders to seek external funding of 40 percent, either by loan or bond.

Meanwhile, he continued, the need for Soekarno-Hatta International Airport alone cost 60 percent of capital expenditure considering Soekarno-Hatta also contributed 65 percent to AP II data collection.

In addition, for the air side, AP II is building several air-side capacity building projects at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, among others, to build the east and south runway lane on the east side or "east-cross cross taxiway", runway ) and the "apron" and "taxiway" development for cargo villages As of April 2018, the development of the East cross taxiway "Phase I has now reached 15.3 percent of which its operation is projected to be in April 2019.

The existence of "East cross taxiway" will accelerate the movement of the air side both when the plane takes off and aircraft landed where currently Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has reached 81 aircraft per hour movement and will be able to reach 86 aircraft per hour movement.

The runway will also build a third runway with an investment value of Rp1.6 trillion, which is a strategic step to increase the movement of the aircraft to reach 114 movements per hour, and to accommodate the increasing number of passengers of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport which is estimated to reach numbers above 100 million passengers by 2025.

"With the construction of a third 'runway', we will benefit from a much higher plane movement of 114 'take-off' and 'landing' per hour movement, which will be supported by an 'east cross taxiway' where aircraft movements between the 'runway' North and the 'runway' Seatan becomes more efficient, "he said.

The construction of the third runway of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport requires 216 hectares of land.

As of April 2018, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has land area of 115 hectares, so it is still needed more land area of 101 hectares is planned to be completed in September 2018.

The land that was acquired covers the area of Tangerang City namely Selapajang Jaya and Benda, and Tangerang Regency is Bojong Renged Village, Rawa Burung Village and Rawa Rengas Village.

Other improvements were also made by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) by building a cargo village of Phase I where the progress of its apron and taxiway work has reached 78.24 percent.

The construction of the apron will result in capacity to accommodate up to eight wide body aircraft (wide body) such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777.

The apron and taxiway cargo village Phase I work is targeted to operate as a whole in June 2018.

The overall development on the air side is none other than the company's efforts to make Soekarno-Hatta International Airport competitive among other world-class airports and also to anticipate future passenger growth in the aircraft.
