4th Industrial Revolution, Government Will Ease the Digitalization Power

INDUSTRY.co.id - Jakarta - The Minister of Industry of Airlangga Hartarto said the discovery of the internet gave rise to the 4th industrial revolution where the efficiency of machines with humans and machines with machines was connected to the internet of things (IoT)

However, Airlangga ensures that the 4.0 industrial revolution will not threaten certain professions in Indonesian society, but more and more professions are needed in Making Indonesia 4.0 program.

"For example, commerce, many professions are needed like a Call center, and other customer service ," Airlangga said as a speaker at West Merdeka Forum in Jakarta, Monday (16/4/2018).

Minister Airlangga said the government will make it easier for the digitalization workforce that exist in Indonesia in anticipation so that the digital workforce does not run out of the country. "So they can be stored in the country," he said.

He said that in the 70s to 90s associated with automation and robotization, the amount of labor absorbed was much smaller compared to the second revolution. Still, there are still many professions needed in the robotics era.

"Many professions are needed, although robotics but a lot of work behind the robot," he said.

Airlangga added, the Government will continue to improve the competence of human resources in Indonesia to become a digitalization workforce. According to him, it has been carefully thought by the government.

"After the infrastructure of President Pak pushed to focus on human resource education, this year the vocation will be boosted, then polytechnic, then the Ministry of Manpower will conduct reskilling," he explained.
