INDUSTRY.co.id - Bandung- Minister of Trade, Enggartiasto Lukita, urged people not to worry about eating frozen meat as an alternative to the high price of fresh meat.
"Frozen meat is basically healthier, there is no hotel restaurant in developed countries that cook local meat, flesh meat is dead first, that's what we need to emphasize," said Enggar while doing Inspection to Pasar Andir Bandung, Saturday (5/5/2018)
Enggar said, until now many people are reluctant to consume frozen meat, because it is considered unhygienic. But he said, the assumption is not true.
"More hygienic as well and we'll prepare it (frozen meat)," he said.
Even so, if people still want to consume fresh meat, the government will certainly prepare it at an affordable price or Rp80.000 / kg for local meat.
"We do not impose imported meat, but basically people should be given the choice, want fresh meat, but the meat is affordable Rp.80 thousand must be available," he said as quoted by Antara.
In the joint inspection of the Food Task force of West Java Province, the Minister of Trade also reviewed the prices of several other basic necessities in Andir Market. Based on the monitoring of food commodity prices are still relatively stable.
"Chicken meat and eggs are generally no problem, we also see about garlic under Rp 25,000, chili, and onion is also under control," he said.
In terms of stock such as eggs, chicken meat, sugar, cooking oil, onion, and garlic can also be said to be safe until the month of Ramadan.
The price increase actually happened to chili. Although there is still a price increase but he ensures the price will not jump higher, given the chili can not last long.
"for chilli the price is up and down, but it will not jump too much because it's not that long, so no speculators can hold it," he said.
